KrispyXI is an unofficial, independently operated fan project built on the open-source LandSandBoat server project. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Square Enix.

Trademarks and materials

Square Enix names and marks are used only to identify the game this community project discusses. Any Square Enix material remains the property of its respective owner. KrispyXI should not distribute Square Enix game files; players are directed to the official Square Enix client download.

Separate accounts

KrispyXI accounts are separate from Square Enix accounts. Players should never enter a Square Enix password into the KrispyXI website, launcher, support form, or GM ticket.

Project licensing

KrispyXI source changes and original documentation are governed by the licenses and notices published with their repositories. Those licenses do not grant rights to Square Enix trademarks, client software, artwork, music, or other proprietary material.

Important legal boundary

The Square Enix Materials Usage License permits certain non-commercial community uses of specified materials subject to its terms; it does not grant permission to operate a game server. The linked FINAL FANTASY XI User Agreement expressly prohibits creating, operating, participating in, or using unauthorized servers intended to emulate the game. A non-affiliation notice helps prevent confusion, but it does not change that restriction or create permission to use another party's software, trademarks, or copyrighted material.

Before public launch, fundraising, advertising, or launcher distribution, the project owner should obtain advice from a qualified intellectual-property attorney.
