Central hub
Celennia Memorial Library, zone 284, is the player-facing Expedition Hall. GM Home remains an administrator and testing area rather than the public social center.
Use !hub while alive and uncharmed, outside combat, events, instances, and battlefields, to return to the Hall.

Arrival flow
- Speak with the Expedition Guide for the short first-visit briefing and Hall directory.
- Open the Expedition Compass at the Guide or Pathfinder for a readiness band, missing Apex gates, three next-action routes, and role-aware equipment priorities.
- Visit the Field Instructor before the first League or Dungeon registration to review the different Trust and preparation rules.
- Choose any available combat, crafting, or normal Vana'diel path. Hall progression is guidance rather than a required quest chain.
Laureate, returner, and mentorship support
The Hall records the first level-99 job it observes as a Laureate milestone. A level-up event is marked exact; characters who already had a level-99 job when H1 was introduced receive a deterministic legacy record because older job-order history is unavailable. Recognition grants no equipment, title item, stat, currency, clear, or combat power.
The Guide's returner briefing compares current readiness, Renown, League, and Dungeon values with the last briefing. It also lists active commissions, Surveys, Survey Maps, and staged Hunt, Dungeon, Apex, or Chronicle commitments, then provides one combat and one profession recommendation. Opening it records only the new comparison baseline.
After a different job has been recorded at level 99, the Field Instructor can mentor the current unmastered alternate job:
| Current job level | EXP per lesson |
|---|---|
| 1-49 | 2,000 |
| 50-74 | 4,000 |
| 75-89 | 6,000 |
| 90-98 | 8,000 |
The allowance is three confirmed lessons per UTC Earth week and never accumulates. Level-99 jobs, any job already present in the mastery record, and any job with a Prestige rank are ineligible. Confirmation rechecks the current job, level, allowance, mastery, and Prestige state before consuming one lesson.
The Pathfinder reports all Dungeon Depths available at a shared boundary level. Its upgrade-readiness check covers level, gil, and custom currencies; the Forge and augmentors still enforce eligible equipment, protected item data, and free inventory space when an item is traded.
Expedition Compass
The Compass is guidance only. Opening it or selecting a route does not grant levels, missions, clears, equipment, currencies, or teleports.
| Readiness band | Exact meaning on the current main job |
|---|---|
| Pre-99 | Current main job is below level 99 |
| Explorer 99 | Current main job is level 99 |
| Veteran 99 | Explorer 99 plus League 99 and Dungeon Depth X clears |
| Paragon | Veteran 99 plus 3,000 Expedition Renown |
| Apex Ready | Paragon plus current-job Prestige rank 1 or higher and a selected discipline |
The Compass lists every missing Hard Apex gate and offers one retail, combat, and profession recommendation. The equipment route identifies the current job's broad role and explains four parallel acquisition paths: Sparks/Bayld bridge equipment, retail Artifact/Relic/Empyrean lines, published Forge pools, and level-band job attunements. It does not inspect item level or claim that one set is best in slot.
The Compass also publishes initial active-play service targets measured after the first recognized level 99: Veteran in 18-26 hours, Paragon in 24-36, Prestige rank 1 in 24-38, and the first Hard Apex clear in 32-50. These are KrispyXI planning targets, not retail claims or observed results.
Shared currencies
| Currency or score | Earned from | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Expedition Renown | Hunts, Affix Contracts, Dungeons, Chronicle, commissions, capped Directives, and Survey Maps | Overall Guild rank |
| Hunt Marks | Hunting League and eligible Affix victories | Job augments and hunt progression |
| Boss Essence | Dungeon, eligible Affix/Chronicle, and rewarded Apex clears plus the third weekly Directive | Equipment reforging, Master augments, and the inefficient weekly Supply Exchange |
| Artisan Seals | Crafting commissions, eligible Chronicle first clears, capped weekly combat/Survey exchanges, third Directive, or Survey Maps | Equipment reforging, Veteran/Master augments, and premium Provisions |
| Expedition Ledger score | Every first completion of each weekly Directive | Lifetime recognition; no combat-power purchase |
| Artisan Renown | Crafting commissions | Current per-craft certification thresholds |
| Survey Scrip | Matching successful gathers in active Survey Contracts | Tool bundles and a capped optional Artisan Seal route |
| Expedition Scrap | Salvaging eligible gear | Reforge Tier II and III |
| Casino Chips | Purchased with gil and won in games | Casino wagers and prizes |
Expedition Guild ranks
| Rank | Renown required |
|---|---|
| Recruit | 0 |
| Pathfinder | 100 |
| Hunter | 300 |
| Vanguard | 750 |
| Champion | 1,500 |
| Paragon | 3,000 |
Ranks are an account of accomplishment, not a replacement for job level or mission progress. Prestige resets require Paragon plus League 99 and Depth X; Apex difficulty adds current-job Prestige and prerequisite-clear gates.
Bronze Merchant prices
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Bronze Cap | 42 gil |
| Bronze Harness | 64 gil |
| Bronze Mittens | 35 gil |
| Bronze Subligar | 52 gil |
| Bronze Leggings | 32 gil |
| Bronze Dagger | 39 gil |
| Bronze Knife | 41 gil |
| Bronze Sword | 67 gil |
| Bronze Axe | 79 gil |
These nine items form the Foundation Forge pool. Raptor armor is the level-40 Veteran pool, capped at Tier II; Perle, Aurore, and Teal armor form the level-75 Master pool through Tier III. The Forge upgrades gear acquired elsewhere instead of creating it.
Recommended player route
| Stage | Suggested focus |
|---|---|
| Levels 1-9 | Retail leveling, starter gear, first Hunting League clears |
| Levels 10-29 | Depth I and II dungeons, checkpoint hunts, first commissions |
| Levels 30-49 | Casino unlock, deeper dungeons, regular commission cycle |
| Levels 50-75 | Guild rank progression, Tier II reforges, mission content |
| Levels 76-99 | Final Depths, Grandmaster hunt, Tier III reforges, endgame preparation |
The route is guidance, not a lockstep requirement. Players can pursue missions, jobs, crafting, NMs, and custom systems in parallel.
Encounter debriefs
Reward-free Apex, Chronicle, and Affix practice clears, plus losses in Hunting League, Affix, Dungeon, Apex, and Chronicle content, print a presentation-only debrief. It states bounded attempt duration, highest wave or phase reached, relevant soft-enrage/fury state, and the exact preparation menu to revisit. Manual exits do not print a loss recap. Debriefs never alter rewards, weekly counters, clear credit, or progression.
